Seoul Metropolitan Office of Educaiton Board Hiring ESL teachers now!

Public school positions (Elementary, Middle & High school)

- Starting Date: The end of Feb, 2009
- Salary: 1.8-2.7mil won (Depends on Qualification, click the pay scale)
- Working Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm
- Teaching Hours: 22 hours per week
- Deadline: Nov, 2008
- 300,000 won Settlement pay upon teacher is arrival
- Prepaid airfare
- 100% Severance pay
- 21 working days paid vacation a year and all Korean national holidays

- 50% medical insurance, 50% national pension plan supported
- Full furnished single housing or housing allowance (500,000 won per month)

◈Required Documents◈

3 copies of Signed Contracts with original signature (Make 3 copies and sign on
each page)
2 Reference Letters(including name of referee, title, address, telephone number,
and email address)
Apostilled degree
- should be attached with an apostille or with verification issued by official Korean institutions such as the Korean Council for University Education (KCUE); applicants from a country that does not have an agreement with the Apostille Convention (such as Canada), should attach a notary from the Korean Consulate/Embassy in your country or verification issued by KCUE
- Original proof of enrollment must show completion of at least two academic years
Matching Transcript (sealed by University in an envelope): it must be delivered
directly from university to the S.M.O.E.

Apostilled Criminal Record Check
- Should be done on a local level or above and should be verified by an apostille
- Applicants from Canada or other countries that do not have an agreement with the Apostille Convention should submit a criminal record check notarized by the Korean Consulate/Embassy; however, Korean residents who have a criminal record check from one of the foreign diplomatic offices in Korea are exempt from the apostille verification process
- Verification should be issued by official institutions (of the applicant's government in his/her country or by foreign diplomatic offices in Korea ) and must have been issued within 6 months at most before submitting all the required documents.
Copy of Teaching Certificate (if applicable)
Letters of Employment (teaching positions ? if applicable): reference letters can
replace them referring to contract term.
